What to See in Paris: Sacré-Cœur

If there is one sight anyone coming to Paris must see, that is Sacré-Cœur. The church itself is absolutely stunning, sitting on one of the highest hills in Paris. This site has what I believe to be the best view of Paris from above. Despite the all of the peddlers that are trying to sell you a mini Paris key chain, a bottle of Heineken beer, or even worse sell steal your valuables. This is my first location of choice to visit over the Eiffel Tower, as you can get a arial view of the beautiful city you can to explore. And if you’re the adventurous type like me and don’t mind an extra 300 steps up, you can get an even higher breathe taking view of the Paris for only 6 euro. 



After you’re done climbing all of the steps and taking in the views from Sacré-Cœur, just around back is Montmartre. A neighborhood that is much like New York’s Village; once filled with aspiring artist, but now has turned much more commercial due to all of the tourist. Even though there may be more souvenir shops than real artist, the appeal of the quante cozy streets and delicious crepes have not been lost. I would high recommend going in the morning for an early climb to the dome and then post breakfast at one of the many restaurant options in the neighborhood.


I’ve already been here three times in the week that I’ve been in Paris, and will most likely be back another handful.
