My favorite time of year is just almost upon us. From Spring – Fall, I could not be happier. These past few weeks I’ve been wearing a mixture of light layers and even the occasional short sleeve shirt. Despite all the rain in NYC, each day is warming up and staying brighter a bit longer. Check out some of my recent go-to places to shoot photos. I’m calling them, Blue Perk Moments.
Wearing: Primark jacket & pants/ Casio watch/ Ray-ban sunglasses
Location: Soho – Broome Street and Centre Street
As the days are becoming more sunny and the temperature will be above 50, I’ve been ecstatic to go outside and shoot photos. This green shrub wall located in Soho is a staple for me when needing an extra pop of color in the city.
Wearing: Jos. A. Bank sweater/ Vineyard Vines pants/ Tretorn shoes/ Timex watch
Location: Washington Mews Street between 5th ave and University Place
For those like me who love colorful locations. Washington Mews right next to Washington Square Park could not be a better place to take photos. I live for this tiny cobble stone street that each apartment facade has a different color. Making it an easy place to shoot when I want to coordinate my outfit with location.
Wearing: ASOS jacket/ American Eagle shirt/ Kenneth Cole pants/ Dune London shoes
Location: Union Square – Broadway and 14th street
Almost everyone knows Union Square in NYC, but most don’t use it as a backdrop for shooting photos. I think the train station itself is super colorful and beautiful as a backdrop. Not to forget there is a farmers market almost every other day of the week that offers so many colorful Blue Perk Moments for photos.
Wearing: Kenneth Cole sweater & pants/ American Apparel beanie/ Daniel Wellington watch/ Adidas shoes
Location: Variety Coffee Roaster – Himrod Street and Wyckoff Ave.
As some of you may know, by following me on INSTAGRAM. I’ve recently moved from my Williamsburg apartment out to Bushwick last month and I could not be happier. There are so many Blue Perk Moments for photos! This cute coffee shop in particular is great for getting work done outside while adding some color to your photos.
Wearing: Gap jacket & jeans/ All Saints shirt/ Converse shoes/ Toms sunglasses/ Primark bandana/ Giles & Brothers cuff
Location: The Bushwick Collective – Wyckoff Ave. and Troutman Street
Now for those who love graffiti and murals, Bushwick has an abundance of shooting locations. Though to find the most concentrated area, it is best to visit The Bushwick Collective. There are so many great colorful backdrops to take photos against here. I visit at least 3 times a week since it’s now only less than a 10 min walk from my new home.
Wearing: Primark jacket/ Bar 3 shirt/ American Eagle joggers/ Toms shoes
Location: Wyckoff Ave between Troutman Street and Jefferson Street
Last Blue Perk Moment shooting location again is in Bushwick, right next to The Bushwick Collective. This area has so much to offer! I love this mural for its florescent colors. Makes me feel like I’m already at the beach and it’s not yet summer! If you want to see more instant locations where I’m taking photos follow me on INSTAGRAM and leave a comment if you have any questions. I alway make sure to tag my location.
