Woah y’all! The last time I updated my blog was February… FEBRUARY!!! So much has happened between then and now, my head is still spinning realizing I moved to Santa Monica 6 months ago! Though, the last 6 months have felt like the blink of an eye to be honest. Los Angeles felt more like a place I stopped over for two weeks at a time, not so much a home. When I would be on press trips, I’d catch myself saying I still lived in NYC when I had already been in LA for 3 months. That’s why I haven’t been updating as much. Between traveling, recovering, and repeating. Instagram has pretty much become my form of instant short form blogging.

Luckily now I don’t have any travels planned for all of July and I officially have a decorated room of my own in Santa Monica. Making me feel like I actually do live in LA. I’m not just stopping over anymore. Just last month, I finally transformed my new room from dull & lackluster to warm, colorful, and welcome with the help of Pottery Barn’s Beverly Hills Design service team. Pretty much my happy place!

After moving from New York City to Santa Monica in January, I stayed with a friend for a month to search for a new place to call home. During that month I viewed many apartments in Santa Monica and Venice. Many of which had their ups and downs. Most important to me was being able to find roommates I could be friends with. In addition to location, cleanliness, and overall energy. After a month of searching, the last place I viewed checked all those boxes for me. The only downside was the actual room needed a major transformation. That’s where Pottery Barn’s Beverly Hills Design service team came to the rescue.

With the help of German from Pottery Barn’s Beverly Hills Design Team. Together we discussed the theme I wanted for my room. I wanted a sophisticated and sexy vibe while still being colorful of course. After a few meetings with German in store and in my room at my apartment. We were able to decide on a layout that fitted my room perfectly for the furniture pieces that are essential. For me those essential pieces are: a desk to work, a bed to sleep, a nightstand for miscellaneous, and a dresser for my clothes. The cherry on top was being able to paint my room with Sherwin William’s x Pottery Barn’s Spring/Summer paint. All together, you couldn’t even imagine how my room could look like before the transformation.
