After much thought, I officially made the move to Santa Monica a week into the new year. I had been debating about moving to Los Angeles for about a year. New York City has been my home for just over 7 years and will always be where I feel at home, but after 7 brutal winters I was so ready for warmth, new challenges, and change of pace.
Taking a break from the everyday NYC hustle has been super refreshing! With my new-found free time, I’ve been able to discover my new neighborhood of Santa Monica and other neighborhoods such as Korea-town using Chase Pay.
If you’re a Chase customer and don’t know what Chase Pay is yet, it’s is an app on your phone that makes paying for purchases without your wallet super easy. You can also use it as a digital wallet when you pay on other apps or online at places like Atom Tickets and Tock.
Using Chase Pay to get movie tickets was super easy via Atom Tickets. All I had to do was select a movie, decide on which theater I wanted to try out (I decided on ArcLight Cinemas at the Santa Monica Promenade – it’s a total LA spot), and then when it came to check out there was an option to select Chase Pay. Couldn’t be easier! Afterwards, I was set to watch, “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”, a movie with Melissa McCarthy playing a serious role based on a wild true story! I love Melissa McCarthy as a comedian, so I thought it would be interesting to see her in this role. Personally, I think she did an amazing job! If you watch it, let me know what you think.
After we got our drinks, my friend and I walked around K-town discovering some cool murals and lush greenery. I’m all about the new LA vibe. It’s so different from NYC. Soon I’ll be exclusively posting photos in front of plants and random people’s homes (lol).
