This post is in partnership with Caribbean Pride Week. My trip was complimentary, but my thoughts reflect solely how my experience was during my trip of September 2018.
Let me start by stating Caribbean Pride Week is not like traditional Pride events I am used to attending. There was not a parade or celebration of LGBTQ+ acceptance and equality throughout Punta Cana. Though, at CHIC Punt Cana Resort, there was plenty of Pride to be enjoyed! The entire staff at CHIC Punta Cana welcome me and the rest of influencers and media warmly. From the moment I checked in until I checked out, I had my own personal butler a part of my Diamond Club™ package. My room was unreal! I had alcohol on tap, my own personal pool in front of my room, a waterfall shower, and neon lights under the bed that turned my room into what felt like a mini club. The room itself was already beyond inviting! Oh, and all of the food and drinks are included in the price of staying at CHIC Punta Cana. For those who decide to upgrade to Diamond Club™, there is even a special lounge with premium alcohol. That’s where you could find me enjoying fine tequila most of the trip. 😉
Outside of my hotel room, there were two huge pools for laying out, meeting other guests, and even a bubble party! Then just beyond the pools was direct beachfront access. That’s where you could find me sporting my speedo working on my tan early mornings before we went out to explore Punta Cana a bit.
During our first night, we had the pleasure of having dinner at CHIC’s event space. Where we were treated to a drag queen show from drag queens who were flown in from Toronto. The drag queens were so much fun, they asked two people from our group to do their best drag show performance. Much to my luck, I was one of the two guests asked to perform. Long story short about my drag performance. I should never do it! lol
As for the second day, we took a private open air bus apart of Nexus Tours to a boat that took us out for snorkeling, cruising, and spending some time in a shallow serene area to dance in the water while drinking. This day was by far my favorite! Then in the evening we had a lovely dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort. Afterwards there was another drag show at the common area of CHIC and then there was an after party at their club room. Talk about a night to remember!
On my last day, I enjoyed the beach and honestly didn’t want to leave back to reality. Caribbean Pride Week was an experience I highly recommend for anyone seeking sunshine during September and enjoys a partying with the option of relaxing.

From New York, there are multiple non-stop flights. So if you happen to miss a flight like I did, you can easily get on another one and after a short flight you’ll get to enjoy Caribbean Pride!
