Before I dive into this post, a quick reminder there are only 7 more days you can vote for me to win Lifestyle Category at The Shorty Awards! Remember, each day is a new opportunity to vote and sharing on Facebook or Twitter gives me two votes. I’ll even retweet you! I can not thank you all enough for your support!
Now more about my trip to Los Angeles. In a quick summary, it was a blast! Though it was not only nice hotels in North Hollywood and Santa Monica. I was actually visiting family I had not seen in 4 years, celebrating my grandmothers 89th birthday, and meeting with potential agents to hopefully become more bicoastal. Before January 2018, my plan was to move to L.A. for the winter with Tim, but when we got back from Texas. Tim got a new job and now my roots are a bit more tied to NYC. As much as I love the west coast lifestyle during NYC’s winter, I love my husband more. Though my finger is still crossed to be out on the west coast more often in the coming months and next year!
During my trip getting around L.A., I could not be more thankful to have partnered with Toyota to drive their new C-HR XLE! Since Tim couldn’t be with me, it became my temporary bae. Together we conquered all of the traffic in-between the many cool walls I discovered! My favorite features were how stable the driving was and being able to alert me when someone was in my blind spot. Which was perfect for me, since I only drive about once or twice per year. I’m always feeling like a newbie for the first day or two. Though by the end of this trip, I really could see bae and I staying together longer if I was do move to L.A. 😉
Okay, okay! Now for the many walls, I got to discover. I can not thank Amy enough for telling me about some of these walls and Calli enough for taking my photo! If you love color as much as I do, make sure to check out their Instagram accounts: @afashionnerd & @theslyestfox. They’re pretty awesome!
The first wall I got to discover was at Paul Loya Gallery: 2677 S La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034. Super cool wall! Just sadly it is inside a gated area. If you are lucky enough like Amy and I were, you can politely ask the gallery next door to let you take some quick photos.
The second wall we stumbled upon by accident thinking there was a different wall there, then this one just worked. Address: 10737 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90034
The third set of walls are on Melrose. You, of course, know of the Paul Smith Pink Wall. These three were taken on Melrose within 5 blocks of each other. There is street parking here, just make sure to have enough money in your meter so you don’t get a ticket like I did.
The fourth location for walls is in Venice. There are much more I did not photograph. These two just caught my attention most.
This one is located at California Chicken Cafe: 424 Lincoln Blvd, Venice, CA 90291.
And this one is located on Abbot Kinney at Aviator Nation: 1224 Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice, CA 90291.
Last, but not least location for walls is Downtown Los Angeles. Where there are SO MANY MORE! These are just the ones I had outfits left to take a photo in front of.
These are located at The Row in Downtown LA: 787 Alameda St, Los Angeles, CA 90021. This place is huge and there are other cool walls. Just be discrete since there is security who will try to stop you.
This most amazing wall by Jen Stark is at 1828 Conway Place, Los Angeles, CA 90021!
Whef! This has been one long blog post. Hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed LA. There really is so much more I could share and just might. Until then, feel free to leave a comment below or find me on Instagram. 🙂
