This post is in partnership with Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel. My stay was complimentary, but my thoughts reflect solely how my experience was during my stay at the beginning of February 2018.
When I’m greeting at the check-in desk with a glass of champagne, I’m already loving my experience at the Viceroy Santa Monica. Especially after a long day running around L.A. from the valley where I spent a few days with my family, then through the Hollywood Hills to take my Dad for a scenic ride in my temporary car, before a quick pit stop in Beverly Hills and over to Malibu. Needless to stay when we arrived at the Viceroy Santa Monica all we wanted to do was relax and champagne helped us do just that!
A quick tip for those who like chicken. There is a really good place just across the street called Cha Cha Chicken! It’s BYOB, which makes it even better!
After my first night of rest, I was excited to indulge a bit in my complimentary champagne. In the bed of course!
Then my Dad and I got to experience their restaurant, Cast. I can highly recommend the pancakes and tacos! Sooooo good! Plus since it’s L.A. and the weather is almost always nice, you can choose to sit outside next to the pool. I’m a sucker for being outside when the weather is comfortably warm.
That’s why after breakfast, I used the complimentary cruiser bike to venture out to the beachfront with my Dad to enjoy the weather and check out the sites. My Dad was in love with all of the stores along the beachfront with so many options for souvenirs. He had a blast! I enjoyed the location mostly for photos. 😉
Also, just not too far from the Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel by bike is the street, Abbot Kinney. Where there are so many cool walls and shops to visit. In my case, if you haven’t guessed yet. I love taking photos in front of walls. It’s so much fun to find new locations to match my outfit to while traveling!
After spending all Saturday enjoying the scenery outside of the Viceroy Santa Monica, I used Sunday to just enjoy the comfortable bed and heated pool. Though if you are trying to get a tan like I was, there is only a short amount of sun that is directly over the pool. So I’d recommend going down to the beach for some unobstructed sun and relaxing ocean sounds.
As for the view from my room, it was ocean facing and offered the best sunrises and sunset overlooking Santa Monica. Location was ideal for being less than 10 minutes walk from the Santa Monica Pier and the many restaurant and shops in front of the pier. Though one thing to consider is there is only valet parking available on site, but finding a parking on the street isn’t hard if you go to the residential areas.
Given the opportunity, I’d stay at the Viceroy Santa Monica again in a heartbeat. I’ve heard they are doing a major renovation. So by the end of the year, I can only imagine how much more remarkable the hotel will look. I’ll just have to come back again!
