Before I jump into this post, I’d like to announce I have been nominated for a Shorty Award under the Lifestyle category. Sort of huge! I’m not sure who nominated me (HUGE thank you to them!), but I am super honored to be nominated and would love your help to win by voting once a day! Share on Twitter and/ or Facebook for some extra love. Every vote you make counts and I could not be more thankful for your support!
Now more about my stay in downtown San Antonio, Texas. A city I spent two and a half years living in before moving to New York for college. A city I used to admire visiting as a child growing up in Robstown. Visiting San Antonio for me as a child was always exciting to visit the Riverwalk and to see all of the tall and historic buildings in the downtown area.
Fast forward to the present, I had the pleasure of staying at the iconic Emily Morgan Hotel. Located just across the street from The Alamo and only steps away from the San Antonio Riverwalk. I could not have asked for a better location while showing my husband San Antonio for his first time. Though, the best part of our stay was the employees level of customer service. We were treated like true VIP!
After checking into our room overlooking The Alamo, we quickly felt at home.
Over the 4 days, we were in San Antonio, we ate so much at Taco Haven. Which I highly recommend if you want some delicious fluffy flour tortilla tacos! It is conveniently only a short drive from Emily Morgan Hotel and can be reached by the complimentary hotel car service.
Then, of course, a trip wouldn’t complete without discovering some new murals. San Antonio is not filled with murals like Austin is, so it took me some research and getting lost to find these two gems. The first one was discovered while I got lost on the south side of San Antonio. I would love to give you the exact address to help you find this location, but the best I can offer is it is 51 Essex Street. Just keep in mind, we had to crawl under a fence to get the photo, but it was totally worth it! Then the second photo is actually a huge mural dedicated to Selena. I chose to only use the Aztec part for my photo, but you can see the full Selena Mural here. It is located in a parking lot, keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss it.
There is so much more to see in San Antonio from Historic Market Square to King William District and the Japanese Tea Garden. Those are just a few I’d recommend visiting. For my husband and I, we spent a lot of time with my family enjoying the central location Emily Morgan Hotel offered. We can not wait to visit again!
