LumaRx Intense Pulsed Light Hair Removal Review: For Men Who Don’t Want Body Hair

If you’re a guy like me who prefers a hairless abdominal region or in this case almost any region below the neck but doesn’t like getting waxed. My experience using the LumaRx Pro was such a breeze. At first, I was a bit intimidated by all of the instructions included in the package, but after my first use, I realized it’s super intuitive. To keep it simple, the first step is to test the device on your skin for it to unlock. This makes sure your skin is safe for the IPL treatment, then once it unlocks you’re almost ready to start. Before each treatment you must shave the area you want to be treated, afterward, you’re ready to go!

For my initial session, I started with the first intensity level to test the pain and to see how my skin would react. Luckily for me, my skin didn’t get irritated and for my second treatment I was able to increase the intensity to level 4, and then 5 (strongest) for my third and final treatment.

I focused on my lower chest (mostly around the nipples) and abdominal region because I still wanted a little bit of chest hair up top for when I keep my button down shirts left open. For my selected area it took about 30 minutes and around 150 pulses in total.

After my first treatment, my treated area felt great. Super soft and the pain only lasted a second during each pulse, then was gone. Though after a week, my hair did grow back, but in much smaller amounts and not as thick. My hair is stubborn and quite thick, so I was expecting it to grow back.

As I mentioned, for my second treatment I increased the intensity to level 4.The pulse was a little bit stronger than 1, though still a very tolerable pain. Especially after the first four or five pulses, the body starts to go numb and the pain goes away.

I was feeling super confident after my second treatment. After a week, I could notice my hair slowly starting to grow back but much more spotty. This is when I learned it’s super important to pay attention to the areas you’re covering. I skipped a few small patches on my happy trail that made the area look patchy.

For my third and final treatment, I used level 5 intensity and made sure to pulse the patchy areas I had noticed after my second treatment. After my last treatment, my body is feeling great and ready for some fun in the sun!
