This blog post was originally shared Fall of 2015:
As mentioned in my last BLOG POST a week ago (sorry for these sporadic updates, life has been constant moving recently), I was kicked out of Berlin and am now living back in the states for 6 months until I’m able to return. Not so horrible as New York City is a great city after all, and I had plenty of friends I was able to catch up with and meet new friends via INSTAGRAM.
I arrived right in the middle of New York Fashion Week for women, so needless to say all of my friends were busy running between shows and parties, while I just enjoyed being back in the city and attending some parties here and there. 😉
Luckily I had friends who were willing to allow me to stay with them over the 2 and a half weeks I spent in New York since I only had a two week short notice to leave Berlin. During this time I hopped between Greenpoint, East Village, and Bushwick. I must say, I did not spend much time in Brooklyn when I lived last in New York’s neighborhood of Lower East Side. Now after returning from Berlin, I found a new appreciation for Williamsburg, Greenpoint, and Bushwick. When I’m back to the city, I plan to spend a lot more time there. Actually, most likely be living there since rent in NY is so much more than Berlin!
Some other perks of being back in New York were the many food options that are literally right outside your doorstep and around every corner. One of my favorite dishes is Italian, and was able to enjoy OLIO E PIÚ in the heart of West Village.
I also attended a Instagram meet-up, went to a cool museum in Astoria I had never been to, and went to Hyatt Time Square’s rooftop for drinks at their BAR54 which has some pretty epic views!
All before headed home to Texas, where I currently am at now until November when I plan to return to New York, hopefully with a new job and apartment (fingers crossed).
While in Texas I have been indulging in more food (than I should) and trying my best to discover new sites like a tourist for Instagram.
Until I have my new site up planned for January 1st, I will be focusing on my Instagram content and pushing some content onto my Tumblr to keep you all updated. I have not been a fan of this before, but Instagram is like micro-blogging anyways, right?
