This blog post was originally shared fall of 2014:
In the middle of Rome, less than five minutes from Termini train station lies a cozy, stylish, and eco-conscious ho(s)tel, THE BEEHIVE ROME. A place I had the pleasure to stay at while I spent three days exploring Rome.
For budget conscious travelers with taste, I really think you’ll find The Beehive Rome is somewhere you will feel comfortable while traveling. Providing accommodations ranging from 80 euro to 25 euro, you can find an accommodation fitting your needs depending on privacy. Such as THE HIVE: offering a shared, mixed gender dorm room, OTHER HONEY: offsite private guest-rooms with shared bath, common areas for socializing and communal self-catering kitchens so you can shop and cook like a local, CLASSIC ROOMS: private rooms with shared bath, and last THE SWEETS: providing private rooms with bath.
During my visit, I was able to bee spoiled in The Sweets that are located just around the corner from their main office on the second floor of a residential building with a lift. A major plus! The room was large and had it’s own private patio perfect for fresh air and outdoor coffee in the morning before exploring. There is even a common area for guests staying in The Sweets for lounging with some tea or browsing on their communal iPad.
Other COMFORTS are their large outdoor garden for socializing in the warm Italian sun. You can see I enjoyed myself too via my INSTAGRAM. Plus they offer a cafe for breakfast a la cart 7:30 – 10:30am daily and have a lovely lounge to surf their free wifi. While also providing an iPad here as well to help you plan your daily adventures.
In addition to to all of their on-site comforts, my favorite perk was being walking distance from almost anywhere in Rome. As long as you don’t mind putting your walking shoes on. During my stay, I only used the metro once when I was going to the Vatican. Otherwise the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the neighborhoods of Monti and Trastevere are all only 30 minutes or less by foot. Traveling by foot is honestly the best way to see Rome in my opinion!
To book your stay, head over to: THE BEEHIVE ROME. Have a great time in Rome!
