As you all know, I sort of love traveling whimsically. Last year I was fortunate enough to visit 5 countries and a few new cities in the U.S. that I had been wanting to visit for some time. During all of my travels, I try my best to stay super aware of my fitness and focus on keeping up my healthy moments even when I’m away from home. Chase Pay has been a game changer for me. From Los Angeles to Corpus Christi to New York City, I’ve been able to travel without worrying about my wallet, earn rewards and even land some awesome deals. As long as I had my phone with me, I was able to use the app.
When I traveled back home to Corpus Christi for the holidays, I forgot my headphones in New York, which of course I didn’t realize until I was seated on the plane. Luckily, when I got to Corpus Christi, my mother took me to the nearest Best Buy where I used Chase Pay for fast and easy payment to get my new headphones, which were just what I needed during my time home. The weather is usually in the high 60’s which makes for perfect early morning runs. When it comes to running, I really prefer an outdoor run versus being indoors on a treadmill. The bay front is probably my favorite place to jog, nothing compares and it’s one of my favorite ways to pass time when visiting; especially since there is sooooooo much delicious food in south Texas. To keep up my healthy moments, working out is key, so I can reward myself with a delicious fluffy flour tortilla taco stuffed with spam and eggs. It’s such a guilty pleasure that I only allow myself when I’m visiting. Everywhere else, it’s kale salads from Chopt. In my defense, there isn’t a Chopt in south Texas.
Another way I enjoy staying charged while on the road is making sure my hotel has a gym. I love waking up early when on the road to visit the gym for an hour. At home, I love to sleep in late, but while away from home, I’m full of energy and excited to explore and a good workout keeps me energized for the day ahead. Even in the rare occasion there isn’t a gym, I have a few workout videos that I frequent on YouTube that get my heart rate up and my pores sweating. Afterwards I am full of endorphins ready to discover my new location. As you can guess, my eyes are always on the search for new murals.
Whenever I’m back home in Los Angeles I find ways to eat healthy too and will use Chase Pay for a yummy salad at my nearest Chopt after a workout – it’s so easy it leaves me little excuse to not do it! I looooooove a kale salad with chicken, blue cheese, almonds, and balsamic vinaigrette. I’m very much guilty of at least one a day when possible. Working out is only as beneficial as the food I fuel my body with and is so important that it gives me the energy to get through a good workout.
It's wild to think how seamless the app has made the past couple of traveling moments for me. My phone is usually always in my hand which means I’m always ready to pay. I can’t wait to use the app wherever my travels take me this year!
