Joshua Tree Birthday Moments

For my 29th birthday last month, I was beyond lucky to have four of my closest friends fly into LA from New York for a road trip to Joshua Tree in Chevrolet’s 2021 Trailblazer. During our current new normal, there is no better way to celebrate a birthday safely with a small group of friends other than taking a road trip together. Luckily for me, my friends at Chevrolet are always there to help me get out of my apartment. This time was just an extra special road trip for a birthday experience that came together in just two weeks and is proof that sometimes the universe works in mysterious ways and when it does work in our favor, we have to embrace each joyful moment the universe provides.
When it comes to the safety of my friends and I, we all got COVID-19 tests before meeting for our road trip to make sure we were all negative and safe to meet. Whenever we were in public spaces, we always wore masks . However, for the most part, we were at our secluded Airbnb oasis in Joshua Tree. Chevrolet even made sure to have contactless vehicle delivery and thoroughly sanitized the entire vehicle for our safety.
Before heading out on our road trip, my friends and I did 90% of our grocery shopping in Los Angeles. The first challenge was getting 5 of our luggage’s and tons of yummy food into Chevy’s Trailblazer. Luckily, my friends were packing experts and we all fit with a little bit of spare room for our 2-hour road trip from LA to Joshua Tree.
On the drive from LA to Joshua Tree, it was time to test out all the cool new tech features Chevy’s 2021 Trailblazer has to offer. My favorite was the Wireless Apple Car Play (there is also Wireless Android Auto), so everyone in the car could take a turn DJing without a cord being a limit to my friends in the backseat. Because anyone that has done a road trip with four of their best highly opinionated friends knows, whoever has the phone is the one in control of the music everyone is listening to. The Wireless Apple Car Play was not only great so all of my friends could be happy, without the cord, I was able to keep Google maps directing me the whole time via Bluetooth. Which was a total win win for me and my friends! Then when my phone inevitable got a low battery halfway to Joshua Tree, Chevy’s Trailblazer was ready to charge me back up with its wireless charging pad in the middle counsel. Plus, an added option for charging is the USB-C fast charging for iPhone or Android. There are so many more cool features that I didn’t even get to try during my road trip! I implore you to learn more about Chevy’s 2021 Trailblazers technological innovations.
Once my friends and I checked in our Airbnb in Joshua Tree, it was time to explore Joshua Tree National Park. The time of our trip was the first weekend of August, which is the peak of summer, the temperature was about 110 fahrenheit daily. So, while my friends and I were in the park, we put the Trailblazer’s air condition to the test. Verdict, it passed! We had the AC going full blast all 4 days we were in Joshua Tree and could not be happier!
Over the course of our 4-day trip, my friends and I could not have been happier to have Chevy’s 2021 Trailblazer as our air-conditioned safe haven as we went to the farmers market and national park. In-between our limited daily excursions to enjoy the beauty and not pass out from the dry heat in the process. We celebrated my birthday with all the positive energy and delicious food. Plus a couple of alcoholic drinks here and there! ;)
As my birthday is now a month passed and I look back on all of the special moments, I could not be more thankful to Chevrolet to help me get out to find new roads. Especially for my 29th birthday, during a global pandemic, when I had very little hope to celebrate as I did with my best friends from NYC.
This blog post only sums up a fraction of joy I felt to have some of my chosen family to celebrate my birthday during our current new normal. I hope y’all continue to take care and stay safe out there. Last but not least, don’t forget to wear your masks y’all!
